Elasticity of continuous media, elastic wave motion. Non viscous and viscous fluid behaviour. Introduction to theory of special relativity including time dilation and length contraction, mass energy and momentum, simple calculations involving relativity. Early history of quantum mechanics including blackbody radiation/UV catastrophe, photoelectric effect, wave-particle duality, Bohr atom model and the De Broglie modification to atom. -- Course Website
